Position

As a UX Apprentice, you'll embark on an exciting journey to develop your skills and expertise in user experience design. This apprenticeship program follows the Digital User Experience (UX) Professional Integrated Degree standard, providing you with a structured framework to learn and grow in the field of UX design. Under the guidance of seasoned mentors, you'll gain hands-on experience in conducting user research, creating wireframes and prototypes, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver user-centered designs. Study will be in partnership with Manchester Metropolitan part time over 4 years.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in conducting user research activities such as interviews, surveys, and usability testing to gather insights into user needs and preferences.
  • Learn to create wireframes, prototypes, and design mockups using industry-standard tools to visualize and communicate design concepts.
  • Collaborate with designers, developers, and product managers to translate user insights into actionable design solutions.
  • Participate in design reviews and brainstorming sessions to contribute ideas and insights to the team.
  • Take ownership of assigned tasks and projects, demonstrating initiative and a willingness to learn.
  • Embrace feedback from mentors and peers to continuously improve your skills and grow as a UX professional.
  • Stay curious and proactive in keeping up with industry trends and best practices in UX design

Essentials

  • Candidates for the Degree Apprenticeship should have a minimum of 104 UCAS points at A Level (Grades BCC) or an equivalent e.g. BTEC DMM. We will individually evaluate candidates who do not meet these requirements, but have workplace experience or have completed a Level 3 Apprenticeship programme.
  • Applicants will also require Maths and English Language GCSE grade A*-C, or commit to completing functional skills qualifications during the programme. Genuine interest in user experience design and a desire to pursue a career in the field.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members.
  • Eagerness to learn new tools and methodologies related to UX design.
  • Basic understanding of design principles and creativity in problem-solving.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
